A modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs
See writer/director Taylor Sheridan's most popular movies and TV series on IMDb, ranked by user rating.. A Landman, at least one who works in the petroleum industry, will act as the middleman between the exploration companies and the landowners. Typically, a landman's job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases, so they can drill oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build out roads ,living quarters for the workers (man-camp), assemble the excavation machinery and drill the well itself especially in remote locations.
They're well written and entertaining
They are also, part Fixer, Problem Solver and Facilitator as well.. Referenced in CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022). I apparently have a sucker for Taylor Sheridan shows. I'd gladly watch anything with his make attached to it at this point.
It's grossly gratuitous
But what's with the girl in her underwear and the creepy sexualization of her? It's extremely weird how obnoxious she is with it. It's almost that much of a turn off to not want to watch. I AM invested in the story tho so far.
Love Billy Bob is dead
I'm also not getting why the woman are so utterly unlikeable. The ex wife is just ugggh. It's truly a head scratcher. Is the show just geared towards drawing men?
