Paternalism, inheritance, and the cycle of generational trauma through the prism of Irish culture
Story
An Irish shepherd family struggles on multiple fronts: internal strife, family animosity, rivalry with another farmer.
Paul Mescal and Tom Burke were originally cast in the lead roles, but both dropped out after the project stalled in development and were replaced by Barry Keoghan and Christopher
Abbott..
69th CORK FILM FEST – #3 (PREMIERE + Q&A) A fast-paced revenge film that never has a dull moment, which somehow manages to pull off the impossible, in my opinion
All the cast do a fantastic job, but the standouts would have to be Nora Jane Murphy, Barry Keoghan, and Christopher Abbott (whose accent is unreal for an American).
Both do more with their respective roles than anyone else
The themes of violence, abuse, and failure to communicate properly are very much in the spotlight here.
I am so glad to be able to revisit this general version
They are also very relevant in our world right now, so they really spoke to me.
