Story
CIA agent Joe struggles to balance his personal and professional lives as the agency fights the war on terror. Real-life military advisors help the team make the handling of weapons, clearinghouses, and positioning more authentic. Mentioned in the Premios Soberano (2024). Mr. Sheridan knows how to transport us into macho worlds filled with testosterone, free of clichés, and seemingly without an agenda. That’s what it is.
It’s just guys
No apologies are necessary. His characters are always grounded, and he’s very good at casting. But for women to be great, they need to be written well. The writing has to be as good, if not better, than the men’s. Women are smarter, more sophisticated. Beth on Yellowstone (great character and performance) Barrel Riders, the lone female ranch hand (in the wonderful role of Jen Landon Teeter) All great female characters who fit into the world of the story in a natural and effortless way.
They are strong and powerful
'Partner…' or T & A. He "1883" Upped his game with Faith Hill, a great character who was cast in . '1923" by Dame Mirena Now we have Zoe Saldana doing some of the best work of her career. I would buy her as the CIA head in an open marriage (nice touch). I buy De Oliveira as a broken woman with a burning anger who just won’t give up and thank you, thank you, thank you, writers/directors/producers for not letting her get the best of her male companion soldier. an extra hundred pounds of muscle.
What a face!
Authenticity first! I think her character is more interesting if she’s someone who has to get out or run into the ground before she can leave. Now let’s talk about Jill Wagner, or should I say her hair? From schmaltzy Hallmark dreck to super badass Special Forces? I’m buying it. Special mention: Mrs.
Lanier as the evil teenage daughter
I’m looking forward to the arc that’s created for this loose canon as they get over their teenage angst and move on. Good cast, this could be interesting…
