Remake of Thai Movie Bad Genius (2017)
A group of entrepreneurial high school seniors team up to take down a rigged college admissions system.. Early in the movie, there is a scene where Lynn calculates the cost of her commute to the private school she visited. The movie showed a bunch of public transportation tickets that are clearly marked with a SEPTA logo, which stands for Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. SEPTA runs in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Half a minute later, the movie identifies the city Lynn and her dad live in as Seattle..
I have related a lot
References Roots (1977). My review should be at the top! As a first generation Chinese American. Strict father who made me so hw as soon as I am home. So, it suits first generation Chinese girls very well.
It was good!!
Excellent movie!! I liked it a lot! I am a first generation Chinese American girl from NY & my chinese immigrant father introduced college to my life. So I was referring to the relationship between her & her father, it reminded me of my father & me. I thought it was an original story but found out it was a remake.
(Even magic lol)
For the american version it would be more up to date if it was like a required test to like you live or a test to get into an elite single like this college type. If the SATs were still important… but I think even if it’s not that big of a deal for college students, I’m sure it’s a big deal for some old school parents/care about your education parents. But what can I say! I liked this movie, I think the plot is original (even if it’s related to the original) – I loved the actors (especially Benedict Wong <3 ) & the actress is a standout..
I love that Canto speaks
she looks like a promising young addition to the “Asian Actresses” community in Hollywood. I can see her in future romcoms & Moving on to action movies. The other teenage actors/actresses fit your stereotypical hs, actors are interchangeable , Where if not replacing the entire race of the character is it harder to change/stand out? We need more Asian movies!!
