A detective and a nun investigate a series of heinous crimes that seem personal while grappling with personal issues and uncovering a sinister web that raises more questions than answers. Ed Laclan’s Mustang is the same color and license plate as the car in The Italian Job, 2WQI332.
Niecey Nash wouldn’t have been my first choice for a lead detective, but she worked for me for a while. It’s understandable that she’d get caught up in the plot given everything she’s up against, but it’s unrealistic that she’d be allowed to continue working in her condition.
When the “incident” happens, the editing makes me believe she’s dreaming, because the dialogue and the setting when she meets the medic read like a dream sequence. When I see that he is actually real, that’s what really got the story going for me.
Episodes 1-2 are good, 3-4 are okay, and 5-6 are awful. The theory they seem to be pushing on us is that the priest is a serial killer.
The doctor at the campfire is my pick and I wish the show would just end already. Unfortunately, the murder scenes are the most interesting part of this show and remind me of what our human nature can be: overindulgence and cruelty.
