Story

The story of how a young Donald Trump started his real estate business in 1970s and 1980s New York City with the help of infamous attorney Roy Cohn. Roger Stone, a longtime associate of Donald Trump and Roy M. Shocking scenes usually have a purpose

CutlerPublished by BMG Rights Management (UK) Limited. it. Megalopolis was a lovable mess, Joker 2 was a mess without being lovable (but I guess it took risks), Terrifier 3 really made me sick (I didn’t sleep well last night because I watched it last night too), and now The Apprentice is going to some crazy places. At times I was like, “Are they allowed to show this?” I was shocked.

Will Trump sue?

I think the point of the movie is made without much subtlety, but I think some people still think Jordan Belfort is cool based on The Wolf of Wall Street, so who knows. On the other hand, though, there’s a very alarming scene here that seems to exist to state unequivocally how the filmmakers feel about Trump’s character. It becomes the most controversial scene. Has he already started that lawsuit?

I think that was the intention

This scene also lacks any follow-up, which made me even more uneasy and upset. Some people don’t like it—people who like and dislike Trump—and I wonder if that will make The Apprentice this year’s blonde bombshell. There’s a lot going on in The Apprentice and I didn’t… I guess I didn’t know how to end it, but other than that I enjoyed it. The three leads – Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong and Maria Bakalova – are phenomenal.

This movie will be with me for a while

The juxtaposition of Trump’s rise and Roy Cohn’s fall was an unavoidable plot point, but it makes for a very compelling drama. It’s a boring movie, but there are nuances in some parts that I think will spark discussion and/or argument. I don’t always like provocation, but when it feels appropriate and is backed by a good film, I’m all for it.
